Hospice Southland is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or the technology they use to browse.

Our Accessibility Standard
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA — the accepted standard for web accessibility in New Zealand and internationally.
Our most recent accessibility review returned a score of 96/100 on Google PageSpeed Insights.
Accessibility Tool
Every page on this website includes a built-in accessibility tool — look for the button in the bottom right corner of your screen.
This tool allows you to adjust the way the website displays, including:
- High contrast mode
- Text size adjustment
- Dyslexia-friendly font
- Reading guide and focus tools
- Colour and saturation adjustments
- Keyboard navigation support
You do not need to create an account or install anything to use it.
Known Limitations
This website uses Hospice Southland’s official brand colours. Some colour combinations in the footer may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements. We are aware of this limitation and are actively working with our design team to explore solutions within our brand guidelines.
If you experience difficulty reading any content due to colour contrast, we recommend using the high contrast option available in the accessibility tool described above.
